Fourth Graders Lead Heartfelt Fundraiser to Support Local Veterans

Posted Date: 11/16/25 (2:11 PM)

The spirit of giving was on full display as the RSE Fourth Grade class hosted a successful bake sale to raise funds for the Eastport American Legion, bringing the school community together in a meaningful act of service ahead of the holiday season.

Students worked together to sell baked goods, ultimately raising an impressive $551 for local veterans. The entire school contributed to the effort—either by donating items or supporting the sale—showcasing a united commitment to honoring those who have served.

As part of the experience, representatives from the Eastport American Legion visited the classroom for a warm and engaging question-and-answer session. Students had the opportunity to hear firsthand about military service, ask thoughtful questions, and express their appreciation.

During the visit, the Fourth Grade presented a ceremonial check along with heartfelt cards and notes written by students across the school.

Mr. Lynch and Ms. Bongiovi helped organize the initiative, saying the goal was not only to support local veterans but also to highlight the importance of giving back.

Thanks to the leadership of the Fourth Grade and the generosity of the entire school, students gained valuable lessons in kindness, community, and gratitude—while making a meaningful impact on local veterans.
